THE TRADITIONAL BOATS OF IRELAND
Calling all boat lovers to join a maritime cultural adventure in the ever-enchanting Ireland!
Join fellow wooden boat enthusiasts or those who are curious about wooden boats, and immerse for 5 days and 4 nights in the maritime culture of Ireland. We will attend the Baltimore Wooden Boat Festival in the southwest corner of Ireland, while staying in a comfortable inn in the center of Baltimore. This festival runs in conjunction with the Baltimore Seafood Festival, so excellent food, drink, and traditional music will abound! No prior rowing or sailing experience necessary!
During the day we will attend the Festival events, including the unique opportunity to get out on the water to row and sail a variety of distinctive Irish vessels. Some of the vessels may include:
Cost includes: In-country transportation R/T from Cork to Baltimore, lodging, three daily meals (excluding drinks, snacks), sailing, rowing, attending festival events, visiting local boatyards, and exploring local scenic places.

- currachs ––2-oar, 4-oar, or 6-oar skin-on-frame boats
- gandelows –– up to 23 ft. long, Shannon river and estuary wooden rowing and fishing boat.
- Ilen –– 56 ft., 93-year old Conor O'Brien ketch
- An Faoilean –– 28 ft., 104- year old Gleoiteog, a type of Galway Hooker
- Peel Castle –– 90 ft. Cornish Lugger
- Síle A Dó –– a converted fishing trawler into a sailing ketch
- Hanora and Fionn–– 26 ft. + bowsprit, Heir Island lobster and Long Island mackerel sailboats
